Andrea Blain has been a leading publicity expert in the family and children’s entertainment and education markets for more than 20 years. She formed Andrea Blain Public Relations in 1992 to provide targeted public relations services for major brands and independent family and children’s products.
Before establishing her own company, Blain served as Vice President of Creative Services and Publicity for Smarty Pants Audio and Video. She supervised production and printing of packaging, sales and advertising materials and became heavily involved with the publicity launch of a new line of Smarty Pants’ product—award-winning children’s films produced by the highly-acclaimed National Film Board of Canada, making them available on home video for the first time.
Prior to joining Smarty Pants, Blain was Director of Sales and Marketing for two years at Five Penguins Design, a Los Angeles design firm specializing in entertainment. She began her career in home video with L.A.-based Media Home Entertainment – at the time, the leading independent distributor of home video – where she spent four years as art production coordinator.
A graduate of Northwestern University with a B.S. Communications, Blain is a member of the Coalition for Quality Children’s Media and lives in a suburb of Chicago.
